Weil-McLain: American boiler manufacturing since 1881
Weil-McLain has built boilers since 1881 and earned its reputation on cast iron: CGa and EG series boilers from the 1980s and 90s are still heating Lower Mainland homes today. The modern lineup adds the Evergreen and ECO condensing series and the AquaBalance combi, bringing the brand into 95% AFUE territory.
That mix is exactly why experience matters here: we service everything from 30-year-old cast-iron workhorses (standing pilots, thermocouples, low-water cutoffs) to current Evergreen condensing units with electronic controls — and we will give you an honest read on when a grand old cast-iron unit is worth repairing versus retiring.

Weil-McLain FAQs
My Weil-McLain cast-iron boiler is 30 years old — repair or replace?
If the heat exchanger sections are sound, simple fixes (thermocouple, gas valve, circulator) are often still worthwhile. But at 80%-class efficiency you pay roughly 15% more gas than a condensing replacement every month. Our rule of thumb: repair if it is under ~$600 and the sections are dry; price an Evergreen replacement if repairs are stacking or the sections leak.
How much does a Weil-McLain Evergreen cost installed?
Typical Evergreen installations in Greater Vancouver run about $7,000–$10,500 installed, reflecting the conversion work from atmospheric venting to condensing. High-temperature radiator homes usually need no radiation changes, which keeps the project contained.
Do you service old Weil-McLain boilers?
Yes — cast-iron CGa and EG units are a regular part of our service week: pilots, thermocouples, low-water cutoffs, circulators and zone controls. We keep them running safely as long as the sections are sound.
