Daikin: Freeze-Up or High-Pressure Protection
What this fault means
The unit tripped a protection because the coil iced up in cooling or pressures ran too high — an A-series protection (e.g. A5) on Daikin systems.
Likely causes
- Dirty filters or coil restricting airflow
- Low or incorrect refrigerant charge
- Blocked indoor/outdoor airflow
- Fan fault
What you can safely check
- Replace a dirty air filter — restricted airflow causes a surprising share of furnace faults.
- Confirm registers and the outdoor unit are clear of snow, leaves and debris.
- Cycle power at the switch once and let the system retry.
